I have had a ton of fun with Mindustry, and the sticker price is a lousy six bucks. This can be really helpful when trying to take over a sector, to crack the hard points in the enemy's defense. it has multiple tiers, and you can either coordinate them roughly from command outposts (gather here or go attack, mostly), or take control of one and have a squadron form up around you. Mindustry also has much better vehicles than Factorio's. (that's a long time when waves are every two minutes or so.) This is really helpful for some of the more advanced buildings, which can take thirty seconds or more to build on your own. By mid-match on any given map, you can deploy more vehicles to help with building and repairing, as well. Your ship will then build those things as quickly as it can, which is typically pretty fast. One of the most important things is your pause button you can pause and plonk down a plan for as intricate a build as you like. You're under constant time pressure, because enemy waves come every couple minutes. There are massive towers that require high-end ammo and constant cooling, but in exchange can lay waste to huge areas. Some towers are fully electric, but you need quite strong power production to deploy them, and they still like coolant. Most also benefit from either water or coolant delivery this speeds them up. Most turrets need material of some kind to fire, and can be fed better ammunition to work more effectively. The economic model is simplified, but it still gets pretty intricate. There's lots of explodey bits, and they can be a lot of fun. ![]() It's got really fast graphics and tons of tower, enemy, and vehicle types to build. It's in the Factorio genre, but much more focused on the tower defense aspect. Mindustry, on that spoiled list, is superb. Code like this which reads the values of your resources is completely changed every time you run the game, every new mission, likely changes during missions. One such game in recent times had created ripples among the Steam community and the mobile RTS gamers, and that game is Mindustry.
